Testing program directory privileges

Checking execute permissions ...
alert("Error: System.Exception\nMessage: An error occured: Description: Operation is not allowed when the object is closed. Source: !ExecuteSQL:507\nSource: Login.Ventory.GcBridge.5.0\n at ViewGenerator..ctor()\n\nDate/Time: 3/03/2010 11:42\nCulture: nl-BE\n\nUnable to create GlobalContext in HandleError");_CMDTYPESEPERATOR_No execute privileges for LOGINventory program folder. User SERVER06\Administrator needs execute privileges.

Hi,

What happens if you call the webinterface with
http://localhost/liwi/default.aspx?

Hi,

Which DB do you use?
Is the db server located at the same machine as the webinterface and ...
what is the authentication type (Integrated Windows or SQL Authentication) set in LOGINventory Configuration.

Hi,

I'm using Mysql server 5.1 with an odbc 3.51.11 so i can select don't optimize column width and return matching rows.
DB and webinterface are on the same server but where can i find authentication type in loginventory configuration?
In IIS authentication is default integrated windows.

thanks

Hi,

Oké i changed the odbc back to 5.1.6 but still I get the same error! I used odbc 3.51.11 because when you test the connection in the configuration you get "Please check that MySQL ODBC options "Don't Optimize Column Width" and Return Maching Rows" are enabled!" Is there another way to solve that error? I don't find those options in odbc 5.1.6!

kind regards,

Hi there seems to be a problem establishing a database connection in some cases.
Please give us some (days ... hours) to evaluate the problem ... we will come back to you soon.

Hi,

It seems to be just a missleading error message. LOGINvetory Webinterface is not able to connect to your db.

Please Notice:

MS-SQL Server:
If the Webinterface installation is not placed on the Database Server use SQL Authentication instead of
NT-Authentication (can be changed in the LOGINventory Configuration -> Select Database dialog).

MS-Access:
Read and Write Privileges for the user executing the webinterface as well as Network-Service Account for the
Directory containing the .mdb and the .mdb file itself.

ODBC Connection:
Use System, not User DSN

Detailed How-To's about webinterface configuration may be found here
How To use SQL Server, SQL Server 2005 Express
How To set up file system security on Access denied
How To allow ASP.Net 2.0 on IIS 6 (Windows 2003 Server)

Of course we will improve error handling ...

Problem solved, I used a user DSN for my odbc connection.

Thanks
